In it’s milestone fifth year, Everyone Has a Story has helped workplaces acknowledge and show support for people working with a mental illness. 9 Australian’s take their own lives everyday, which is more than double our road toll and is a very alarming statistic. This initiative aims to provide a platform to give people the courage to share their stories and provide support and guidance for others who may be facing similar challenges.

The 2024 event (now in its 5th year) was held on the 30th of October 2024 at Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club. With more than 40 Hunter organisations coming together in support of mental health, the Everyone Has a Story (EHAS) event brings together the inspiring stories of the Hunter and the people behind them.

Now in its fourth year, Everyone Has a Story has helped workplaces acknowledge and show support for people working with a mental illness. With over 1 in 5 Australians experiencing mental illness every year, this initiative aims to provide a platform to give people the courage to share their stories and provide support and guidance for others who may be facing similar challenges.
The Everyone Has a Story series plays an important part in letting people know they can seek help for mental illness. ARTC are proud of their employees speaking out and for being a part of this initiative. ARTC has supported EHAS over the last two years with multiple employees sharing their stories.
Alex Brennan is a networker, angel investor and entrepreneur who has worked in the varied fields of stonemasonry, recruitment and economic development. He is chair of the Hunter Innovation Festival and is a proud supporter of Everyone Has a Story. Alex has shared his personal story in 2023.

2020
On the 14th of October 2020 over 20 Hunter industrial organisations came together in support of mental health. The results were beyond expectation.
Over 20% of Australian experience mental illness each year. 70% of those will not seek professional help. Everyone Has a Story is an initiative launched by Out of the Square and Molycop with the aim to provide a platform and give people the courage to share their stories. As not everything is hi-vis.
We have some of the major manufacturers and influencers in the region as a part of this, and with that and those people connecting, we have a chance to tell our workers that their mental health and their wellbeing is really important to us
